Roger's photography shoot at the Santee Lakes Park , California Feb 4 & 8, 2010

Photos were shot using a Canon 100-400 L series f4 f5.6 lens on a Canon 40d body hand held.

Photos were processed using Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop CS4.

A pair of Ring-necked Duck's with their very distinctive beaks and body pattern.
A young osprey which showed no fear for about 1/2 hour.
Look at the size of that fish apparently captured out of Santee Lakes.
Nice plumage on this juvenile Osprey.
A noisy juvenile Common Raven.
An American Coot kicking up a good spray.
Look at that large fish.
Bill, Lew, and Richard getting ready for the perfect shot of the Egret.

A Great Egret waiting for prey in the reeds.

Keeping a low profile.
A nice sunset at my home over Lake Miramar Feb 4th.

Back out at Santee Lakes on Feb 8th. A resident male Wood Duck.

The Mallard pair cruising together.

A Ring-neck Duck enjoying the water. He has breeding colors on his beak for sure. The lighting was very nice around 4:30pm.

A Snowy Egret. The black beak and yellow feet are the key to identification. Richard Bledsoe set me straight.

A Cinnamin Teal. That blue on his side is called wing feathers and normally is only seen in flight. Several photographers came out to photograph this somewhat rare bird for our area.
The whole family here. No the red eye is not from flash but the real color.
