Roger, Linda, Mike & Charlene's visit to the San Diego Zoo, Nov 6 & 10, 2009

Miss Kola bear not sleeping.
This was all I could see of this lion.
Sleepy sea otter.
This big boy was awake.

Charlene and Linda enjoying them selves in the beautiful SD Zoo.
Here we all are at the new Elephant Odyssey exhibit.
A Mastadon from ages past.
Glad I wasn't a cave man.
This guy looks friendlier.
Yours truly with sister Charlene.

The new enclosures are really high tech; food, water, shade, and even a mister when it gets hot.
Linda with an extinct bird.

Miss Meerkat.
They love to dig and are so active.
Very curious also.

What a nose this peccary has!

Orangutans feeding.

The Giraffes are fun to watch.

I not sure a donkey qualifies as a wild animal?
I wished I could grow this flower at home, but they are not happy on my property.

Orchids.
A pair of happy doves.
Wood Duck.
Female Wood Duck.
Brandy tea rose.
This is the second day we visited the zoo. I wanted to come back for the big cats which we missed the first day.

He is getting ready for a snooze.

Charlene wanted to return to see the Panda Bears.
There were two young females to see.

They are mostly solitary animals and do not like much noise. Viewers are requested to be quiet.
The Pandas are very popular at the San Diego Zoo. Some times there are long 30 minutes lines.

Could not resist a photo next to the famous Gorilla statue near the zoo entrance.
