This was the beginning of our 5 day 4
night paddling trip. |
 |
Here we are all loaded up. |

inflatable Soar. |
 |
David and Joanne's canoe had the
heaviest load. |
 |
The weather was perfect, broken
clouds and in the 70's. |

My niece Mollie. |

Linda in
her 10' rental Old Town Kayak and me in the not so fast inflatable kayak
nick named the BARGE by Mollie. I was usually last on the river and
would leave an hour early in the morning to get a head start on the
faster boats. |

 |
Meghan inpatient to get on terra firma. |
 |
We stayed 2 nights at our first camp
site, so that David and Mollie could portage to a nearby lake for
fishing and snorkeling. This is a cross country ski trail.
There were many of them along this river. |
 |
David testing his wet suit and
snorkeling gear. I brought mine but the water was too cold for a
warm climate wimp like me. |
 |
We had camp fires every night. We
carried some wood, but there was plenty of downed dry wood to be found.
David had a nice cross saw to cut it up. Mollie and David did most
of the wood preparation. |

Mollie and David snorkeling in
Leisure Lake. |
 |
The Lilly pads were beautiful on this
lake. |
 |
Mollie with a small northern. They really tasted good fried up that night |

David with a small Northern. He
also caught some bass which we had for dinner that night. Yum yum. |
