Here
we are entering the Glen Canyon Recreation Area the home
of Lake Powell. The weather was very nice in the 70's. |
 |
Bullfrog Marina, near Halls Crossing, where we disembarked. |
 |
The
houseboat rental companyprovided a pilot to take the
houseboat in and out of the harbor which is a great service if
its windy. |
 |
Renee
Carter was a bit nervous as we disembarked. |
 |
The
first day steaming south and all was well. |
 |
The
canyon walls were generally shear and very beautiful. In
some area's flat camping spots were few and far between.
Note the low water level marked on the cliff. |
 |
This
may be an arch many years from now. |
 |
Linda
and Renee catching up on their lost sleep due to the first days early
start. The troops were not happy with my early departures
in an effort to avoid afternoon winds on the water. |
 |
This
was our anchorage the first night. A really scenic spot
and good for hiking. |
 |
Steven
and Helen enjoyed hiking out here in the wilderness allot.
They always took Meggie dog with them. |
