Photo's by Roger Zellmer Rob Goldberg - Kernville trip - Rafting on the Kern River - June 2005

Kern River a bit upstream from our NFS Camp 3 site.
This rapid and slot hole looks real scary.
This is strong class 3 near the park in downtown Kernville
Yours truly enjoying the afternoon. The water was very icy cold.
A tourist snapped a picture of us on Rob's camera.
The rafts are loaded for the Chamber of Commerce Charity fundraiser run.
Rob waiting for take off.
Nice back drop.
This rapid I could handle with no problem.
A closer look of the killer class 4 rapids and hole. They say this hole can really capture a small raft. I am staying away from this one.
The first tree in the 100 Tree Grove of Sequoias
Holding the Sequoia and the Ponderosa Pine at bay.
These trees are large and beautiful. It smelled great up here at 7,000'. Temperature was about 65 F.
There was a beautiful NFS campground near the grove it was just opening for the season on this weekend.
