Green
River SP boat ramp. It took us 2 hours to rig the boats. |
 |
Maggie
was a bit nervous at first, slipped and fell in the water. She
only did this once as she does not enjoy swimming. She became a
good river dog, constantly watching the progress and location of the other boats. |
 |
Mollie
took over the large 14' Soar after Crystal Geyser and never shed it the rest
of the trip. |
 |
Linda
liked this little 10' hard shell kayak and would not give it up the
entire trip. |
 |
Texas
Long Horn and some farm equipment in back ground. |
 |
A
rock formation called the Anvil, near where we camped the first night. |
 |
Closer
view of the Anvil, also called the Ink Well by the locales. |
 |
The
Register where some famous people have recorded their names. |
 |
Linda
and Maggie taking a break. Notice all the ugly Tamarisk which made
finding camp sites very difficult. |
 |
On
the 2nd day we began reaching the sheer red rock cliffs very similar to
Arches and Canyonlands NP. |
 |
The
desert bloom was at it's peak. |
 |
A
camp site on our 2nd night. My niece Mollie was a very good camper
and helped her aunt and uncle allot with our river survival. |
 |
Maggie our mascot, leading the charge before the incessant afternoon winds came
up. |
 |
I
thought this rock finger formation was very intriguing. |
