Photos by Roger & Jose of our rafting trip through the Grand Canyon Sept 17 & 18, 2009

More photos of the Vasey's Paradise area follow all taken by Jose.

Ed and Phil decided to crawl up top through a hole behind and jump into the pool.
Phil who was in his late 70's was in excellent condition for his age.
Timber.
Ed was really in good condition and well coordinated. He would probably be great at any sport. He works and skies on the slopes in Utah during the winter months
Hope Ed didn't hit bottom too hard with that long lean body of his.
My speed just wading in the refreshing water.
Jose was pleased that he decided to hike up to this spot. A really world class beautiful scene.
We are entering the volcanic rock area north of Lava Falls Rapid now.
I beleive this was the great uncomformity area.
Heading into a nice cool canyon.
A reflection.

Looks like a satellite dish up there.
This is right after the motor hit a rock in a rapids. Ed and Bert are trying to change out the heavy motor with the spare one as we float down to the next rapid. I was a bit concerned that Ed did not bother to anchor the boat to shore while he had a chance. They got it changed however with out dropping the new one into the drink.
The rock was hit so hard that the casting was cracked. If the second motor is damaged we will be stranded untill the next AZRA boat comes along in 1 to 2 days.
Ed and Sandra.
