Photo's by Roger Zellmer and Linda Willingham of our Death Valley trip in January 2006

Salt Creek the home of the ancient pup fish in Death Valley
We took a three mile ranger lead walkalong this creek. The main topic was the pup fish.
Linda enjoyed the walk in the brisk afternoon air in the low 60's.
This is a marshy habitat that harbored several species of birds and ducks stopping for a rest while on their migration paths
This was getting to be too steep a drop off to suit Linda. She aborted the hike as it got steeper and higher
On our 2nd day we drove approximately 60 miles from Furnace Creek to Scotty's Castle.
At 3,000' elevation the weather was a quiet brisk in the 50
This was our guide, a bit on the porky side.We did the house tour and the underground tour.
A view from the courtyard inside near the garage.
