Photos COL1

Photo's by Roger Zellmer of Coloma trip in April 2006

The SF of the American River running at 11,0000 cfs. Normal flow at this time of year is 1,800 cfs.
View at my short raft trip put-in near Sutter's Fort SP where gold was first discovered in California. My professional trip was cancelled due to rain and high water. This is one of the few docile spots on this river.
The flora and fauna were beautiful this time of year.
A wild turkey scurrying for cover.
It started raining torrential downpours right after this photo. We rafted 3 miles in the rain down to my 5th wheel which was now parked only about 30' from the water. I decided to move the 5th wheel while it was still on land.
I departed the high river and ran into this. I had to turn the heat up to max to keep the snow off my windshield.
This is Donner Summit on highway 80 while I was on my way to Reno to see Conrad and Kathy.
The DOT traffic control required chains on the truck and one set on any trailer that has electric brakes. I purchased cable chains for the trailer. The traction was good on the truck. The chains however did get worn down during the 40 mile run over the summit.
Returning home to San Diego from Reno on highway 395. The Sierra Nevada's are very beautiful mountains and I always enjoy the scenery on this route.
Stopped for another rest. I can make only 1 hour without a stretch
Here is my new pin TrailAir Hitch. What a difference this makes on rough roads. I highly recommend an air hitch to all of you that do extensive traveling with your 5th wheel.
