Here
we are docking in Scorpion Bay on the Island Packers boat. The
trip over was a bit rough as we encounter 10' swells and 15 knot
winds. Sure glad I took that Dramamine. |
 |
This
is Scorpion Harbor. |
 |
The
island was a lush green from all the rains we had this year. It
used to support cattle/sheep ranching. |
 |
We
did a docent lead hike to this spot. It was a quick 500' elevation
rise, but I had no problem. |
 |
Same
view without the humans. The weather was brisk with a breeze at
the rim. |
 |
Took
a different route back which was very scenic. The weather looked
very threatening at this point. |
 |
We
were working up a good appetite. Helen made us corned beef
sandwiches for our lunch on the island. |
 |
Another
view of Scorpion Harbor. Next time, I want to spend some time
kayaking around the arches and sea caves. |
 |
We
did some more hiking while on our 5 hour stay on the island. This
strange looking thistle was every where on the trails and it kept
sticking me. |
