On the 3rd day we visited the Living Gardens Desert Zoo and Gardens State Park just north of Carlsbad.
These painted horses seem to be popular art in this area.
All animals in the park reside or once resided in the area.
He's safe until Thanksgiving day.
Honey Mesquite tree in full bloom.
Not sure what this is but thought it was a spring time beauty.
A barrel cactus flower.
Red Shouldered Hawk
Mexican Wolf near extinction.
Prong Horn Antelope.
Bison.
Prairie Doggies.
Tired Bob Cat.
A blooming desert plant of unknown species.
Water Lilies.
The Ocotillo was just past its prime.
Barn Owl at the Desert Museum in Tucson.
Most of he Saguaro desert cactus was also in bloom with big white flowers on top.
We drove up to the 8,000' Mount Lemon for a nice hike. It was 26 F. cooler up there with pine trees and some flowers.
Was a 1 hour drive up, but worth it.
The road was very curvy. I would not bring the 5th wheel up here.
