There were no docks at Icy Straight Point landing.
This used to be a salmon canning factory operated by the island local Indian tribe.
The cannery has been restored into a museum.
It was quite automated.  Apparently the salmon got over fished causing the shut down of the cannery.
We did an Adventure Wild Life Search tour and this was our Raven Indian Tlingit guide Donna.
This armed indian guide was our protection in case we met up with an unfriendly bear.  This island has more bears than humans.  During the salmon spawning run bears are rampant. Unfortunately the salmon run is 1 to 2 weeks away.
Another indian guide who was very friendly.
The marshy meadows we walked through were quite deep. You were advised to stay on the synthetic walkway.
The wild flowers were in full bloom.  This plant is called cotton grass.
It was in he 60's and cloudy.
The Alaskan state flower "Forget Me Not"
These are called Yukon Roses.
Chain saw art on the main bear viewing platform.  We only saw one live bear a long way off behind the river.
Our Indian guide had a great sense of humor.
We were provided a shuttle boat for shore access.  This was a beautiful island setting with a wild feeling associated with it.
