Photo's by Roger - Alaska- Juneau - July 2008
The city of Juneau, the state capitol of Alaska.
Conrad and Kathy waiting for dinner.
Linda just finished a cigarette on our outside patio.
We all did a whale watching tour on a boat just like this.
Our guide Cindy was excellent, the best guide of all the tours so far.
Sea Lions, bald eagle, and glacier in the back ground. Apparently this is a famous post card scene for Alaska.
We saw 5 hump back whales. This was a pair sighting which is quite rare as hump backs are usually solidary.
They are huge animals. Apparently their breath is really rank and smelly. We never got down wind of one.
When they lift their tail out like this they are heading for a deep dive.
You can really hear their breath shoot out when they surface.
We all got off the bus on the way back to get a good photo view of this glacier.
A beautiful meadow leading up to the glacier about 1 mile away.
