Petrefied Forest 2005
Diary of Linda, Meggie, and my RV trip to Petrified Forest NP in Arizona, September 2005
9/26/05Was
on the road at 7:45 a.m. The traffic in downtown Phoenix was very
heavy. Drove 270 miles to Holbrook Arizona arriving at 1:00 p.m.
Checked into OK RV Park and had turkey sandwich lunch by Linda in the
5th wheel. We then drove about 20 miles to Petrified Forest National
Park south entrance. We went to the visitor center and walked a trail
in Rainbow Forest which had allot of petrified logs. Next we drove
north 8 miles to Crystal Forest and walked a 2 mile trail which had many
huge colorful logs some with clear crystals in them. Dogs are allowed
on all of the trails in this park so Meghan also walked with us. She
got lots of adoring looks and comments. Got home and the AC was still
doing its job. Norm’s RV moved the freeze thermostat from open space to
right on the evaporator coil which seems to have corrected all our AC
problems. The AC now works through the ducts
and with the thermostat in AUTO mode switching to low speed when
approaching set point and then off without freezing up.
