NGC 1499 California Nebula  in Perseus

Location:      Tierra Del Sol, California

Conditions:  0% moon, seeing 4/10, transparency 6/10, temperature 55-60F, very dry night, wind 5-15mph.

Telescope:    None

Mount:          Losmandy G11, Gemini goto, polar scope used to align.

Camera:      Canon EOS 40D with 70-200mm L series lens mounted on side by side bar

Focusing:    focused manually on star using live Focus mode.

Exposures:  (14) 5 min RAW, 1000 ISO, (10) bias, (14) darks, (14) flats

Processing:  IP3.0 converted to FITS, aligned-rotate, combine min-max, Digital developement, PS CS , black point, white balance,  removed blue artifact using healing brush, levels, curves, adjustment show/highlight,  Gradient  Exterminator, unsharp mask, and reduced size for web.

Comments:     My new 40d camera is producing banding blue artifacts on bright objects.  It will need to be returned.  Other than this I love this camera.
