Once a year in January San Diego has Restaurant Week when special menus are
offered at the better restaurants in town, at a bargain price.
This has become very popular with me and I always try to make one or
more dates. This year I arranged a dinner at the long time famous
Marine Room in La Jolla California. The following friends where
invited: Steve and Helen Biro, Alan and Ray Rowan, Marvin French,
Alice Leight, and Linda. We arrived at sunset and got a beautiful
window table. The Biro's didn't make it as Helen caught the flue.
We brought our own wine as the corkage fee was waived to increase
business during this slow time. We were unhappy to find out that
there was a 2 bottle max per table and our 3rd bottle cost a $25 fee.
We however had a wonderful time and the food was to die for.
