M46/47 open star clusters in Puppis

Location: Home San Diego, California in driveway

Conditions: 0% moon, lots of ambient sky glow light from street lights and city, seeing 5/10, transparency 5/10, temperature 62 F

Telescope: Canon 100mm macro EF 2.8 lens.

Mount: Losmandy G11, Gemini goto, polar scope used to align

Guiding: C8 Celestron 8" scope, TouCam Pro web cam, PHD software

Camera: Canon Rebel 300d

Focusing: Used Canon Rebel with auto set on lens and then returned to manual on the lens.

Exposures: (6) 3 min raw 800 ISO, (0) bias, (0) darks

Processing: IP 2.75 - converted raw to FITS, align-rotate, combine median, digital development with sharpening, converted to jpg, Photoshop CS;color balance, cropped, unsharp mask, reduced size for web.

Comments: This lens is very good. I must try some future shots in a dark site.
