Las Vegas 2006

1/20/06 Linda discovered excessive outside edge wear on the passenger side rear 5th wheel tire. I called Norms RV and requested that the axle be aligned by Plus Alignment in Vista. I drove 120 miles from Death Valley to Las Vegas this morning. Stopped in the desert about 12pm on the way and took Meghan for a short hike off leash. It was much cooler at the higher elevations being in the low 40s most of the day. We checked into the Oasis RV Park in Las Vegas. Its a good thing we had reservations as it was almost full. This is a great park and should be for, $41 per night

Conrad and Kathy arrived about 4:00 p.m. We picked them up at the Tropicana and we all went out for a great Chinese dinner at PF Changs. Played an hour of BJ afterwards losing $40. Went to bed about 10:00 p.m.

1/21/06 Picked Conrad and Kathy up at 9:00 a.m. and went to breakfast at the Silverton Casino Coffee Shop. I, Meghan, Linda, and Kathy then drove out to Red Rock Canyon for a short 3 mile hike on the First Creek Trail. Again Linda wanted to go to the Silverton coffee shop for dinner. Both Conrad and I wanted to go to one of the fine Wynn Hotel restaurants, but Linda wouldnt entertain the idea probably because of money. In the evening we went to see a play called Avenue Q at the Wynn Las Vegas casino. It was a very entertaining musical comedy. Returned to the Tropicana where I lost another $60 playing BJ, before retiring to the trailer.

1/22/06 Had a light breakfast in the trailer. We then all went to lunch at the Emeril owned Delmonica Steak House at the Venetian Hotel and Casino. We also invited Renee Carter, a friend from Henderson Nevada to join us. Most of the food, especially the red meat dishes, were excellent. I ordered fish entrée this time, which was a mistake. My wine and the truffle potato chips were to die for however. Afterwards we all went to the Fiesta Casino in Henderson to gamble a couple of hours. I won $100 at BJ. Took Conrad and Kathy back to the Tropicana. We all had deserts (chocolate malt for me) in the coffee shop for dinner. After that Conrad and I gambled another hour at BJ. I lost $50. Went back to trailer. Linda took Meghan for a walk while I watched TV. We all went to bed at 10:00 p.m.

1/23/06 Got up at 7:00 a.m. and got the trailer ready for travel. Picked up Conrad and Kathy and drove to the Hard Rock Casino for breakfast. I had Eggs Benedict yum yum. Conrad bought a Hard Rock Café T shirt for Kathys T-shirt quilt she is going to make. We then drove the Evans to the airport. We returned to the trailer to hitch up and drove 6.5 hours home to San Diego. Its always nice to return to your home bed again.
