Step 1 Shoot a minimum of 3 Raw, TIFF, or Jpeg photos preferably Raw using a tripod. Use aperture preferred (very important) and use the camera auto bracketing for exposure +2 and - 2 stops
Step 2 Load the 3 raw photos into camera raw 5.2 using the default settings. I use spot removal tool to fix any defects; lens flare, dirt specs, or any thing in the photo I don’t want. No other processing is done.
Step 3 Next use bridge to merge 3 raw files using photoshop to produce a .hdr radiance file. When it is done; save it to the photomatrix folder as an .hdr file.
Step 4 Now load this file into Photomatrix Pro 3.1 and do tone mapping - details enhancer, and process it. Next save output to a 16 bit TIFF file in the photomatrix folder.
Step 5 Open this TIFF file in Photoshop CS4. Adjust this file until it looks good which may include sharpening. Basically get it ready for printing in case it needs to be printed. Save it as a .PSD file.
Step 6 Use Photoshop actions to reduce this file to 853px in long direction. Save it as a .PSD file in "save_for_web"folder. Make it a smart object and add "smart sharpening" as necessary.
Step 7 Use actions; flattening image, saving for web, and close without saving.
