The creek along the trail usually runs all year long. The dessert animals come dawnat dawn and just before sunset to water. |

On Saturday Lana,
Linda, Meghan, and I drove to Culp Valley
to see the wild flowers and then ride our bikes down the mountain.
We hiked around the valley getting lost, but finally found our way back
to the truck. Lana ran the last mile to the truck for a tired Linda and
Roger. We decided not to ride our bikes back because of too much automobile traffic. |

It was 5 - 10 degrees cooler at Culp Valley. |

Indian Paint
Brush, Sand-Verbena, Desert Mallow, Blue Dicks, Lupine, Prickly Phox, California Poppy, Chuparosa, Brittle Bush, Hotten Fig, Beaver Tail, Prickly Pear, CreosoteBush, Palo Verde Trees, and Mesquite Trees were a few of the flowers I recognized. |
